  • 1 tbsp Lime Juice
  • 1/2 tsp Salt To taste
  • 2 tbsp Water For blending

Method

Prep the Ingredients
  1. Drain and rinse your black beans. In a mixing bowl, mash them with a fork or potato masher until mostly smooth, leaving a few chunks for texture.
Mix the Burgers
  1. Add cooked quinoa, breadcrumbs, diced onion, minced garlic, chopped cilantro, and spices to the beans. Mix until well combined.
Shape the Patties
  1. Using your hands, shape the mixture into burger patties, aiming for about ½ inch in thickness.
Cook the Patties
  1. In a skillet, heat some olive oil over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5–6 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
Make the Sauce
  1. In a blender, combine ripe avocado, fresh cilantro, lime juice, salt, and a splash of water. Blend until smooth. Adjust seasoning to taste.
Assemble and Serve
  1. Place a patty on your favorite bun, top with the cilantro avocado sauce, and add your favorite toppings like lettuce, tomato, or spicy jalapeños.

Notes

For best results, let the patties rest for at least 10 minutes before cooking. You can also freeze uncooked patties for quick meals later.
