Ingredients

For the Dough
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree Fresh or canned
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk Warm
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
For the Frosting
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter Softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method

Prepare the Dough
  1. In a bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk. Add sugar, melted butter, pumpkin puree, egg, and spices, mixing well. Gradually add the flour and salt until you form a dough.
Knead the Dough
  1. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead it for about 5-7 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic. Place it in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour.
Roll Out the Dough
  1. Once the dough has doubled in size, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle.
Fill with Cinnamon and Sugar
  1. Spread softened butter on top of the dough, then sprinkle a mixture of sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg across the surface.
Shape the Rolls
  1. Starting from one long side, carefully roll the dough into a log. Slice it into individual rolls and place them in a greased baking dish.
Second Rise
  1. Cover the rolls again and let them rise for another 30 minutes until puffy.
Bake
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for about 20-25 minutes or until they are golden brown.
Prepare Frosting
  1. While the rolls are baking, make the frosting by mixing powdered sugar, softened butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Glaze and Serve
  1. Once the rolls are out of the oven, drizzle the frosting over the warm rolls and serve immediately!

Notes

Use fresh pumpkin for a richer flavor. Don’t rush the rising process—be patient!
