Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 scoop protein powder (chocolate flavor)
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon sweetener (such as honey or erythritol)
  • 3 tablespoons milk (or almond milk)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Optional Toppings
  • Chocolate chips
  • Sliced bananas
  • Whipped cream
  • Chopped nuts

Method

Preparation
  1. In a microwave-safe mug, combine the cocoa powder, protein powder, baking powder, and sweetener. Stir until well mixed to avoid clumps.
  2. Add in the peanut butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Use a fork or small whisk to mix everything until smooth. Ensure there are no dry clumps; the batter should be relatively thick but pourable.
  3. Place your mug in the microwave and cook on high for about 30-40 seconds. Depending on your microwave’s power, you may need to adjust the time.
  4. Allow the mug cake to cool for a minute before diving in. It will be hot.
  5. If desired, sprinkle some chocolate chips, sliced bananas, or whipped cream on top. Enjoy your decadent dessert straight from the mug or transfer it to a plate.

Notes

Store leftover mug cake in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a day, or refrigerate for up to three days. Reheat in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds to restore its warmth.
