Method
Cooking the Pasta
- Begin by boiling a large pot of salted water. Add your spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve a cup of pasta water before draining.
Sautéing Ingredients
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about a minute until it becomes fragrant.
- Toss in the sliced mushrooms. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes, allowing them to become golden brown and tender. Season with salt and pepper.
Combining Pasta and Sauce
- Once the spaghetti is cooked and drained, add it to the skillet with the mushrooms. If it seems dry, add a splash of the reserved pasta water to bring it all together. Toss until the spaghetti is well coated with the mushroom mixture.
Garnishing
- Finish with a sprinkle of fresh parsley and, if desired, some grated Parmesan cheese on top.
Serving
- Serve hot and enjoy your creation!
Notes
For a creamy variation, consider adding a splash of heavy cream or a spoonful of crème fraîche. Customize by using different types of mushrooms or adding protein like chicken or shrimp.
