  • 8 pieces Fresh Peaches Ripe peaches, adjust based on crockpot size.
  • 1 cup Sugar Adjust based on the sweetness of the peaches.
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon For warm, comforting spice.
  • 1 teaspoon Nutmeg For warm, comforting spice.
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon Juice Enhances flavor and prevents browning.
  • 1 splash Vanilla Extract For depth of flavor.

Preparation
  1. Wash the peaches thoroughly. Remove the pits and slice them into chunks without peeling.
Cooking
  1. Place the sliced peaches in the crockpot. Add sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract. Stir well to combine.
  2. Cover and set the crockpot to low. Let simmer for about 6-8 hours.
  3. If a smooth texture is desired, use an immersion blender to puree the mixture after cooking. Alternatively, transfer to a blender in small batches.
  4. After blending, return the mixture to the crockpot and cook uncovered for an additional hour to thicken.
Storage
  1. Let the peach butter cool before transferring to sterilized jars. Seal tightly and refrigerate.

Notes

Choose quality peaches for best flavor. Experiment with spices and sweetness level according to personal taste. If making a large batch, freeze in ice cube trays for convenience.
