For the Fries
  • 4 medium Potatoes (Russet or Yukon Gold) For a fluffy interior.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil For coating the fries.
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated Best flavor when freshly grated.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Basic seasoning.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper Basic seasoning.
  • to taste Optional seasonings (garlic powder, paprika, Italian herbs) Customize to your taste preferences.

Preparation
  1. Prepare the Potatoes: Peel (if desired) and cut the potatoes into evenly sized strips, about 1/4 inch thick.
  2. Soak the Fries (optional): Soak the cut fries in cold water for 30 minutes to remove excess starch, then drain and pat them dry thoroughly.
  3. Season the Fries: In a large bowl, toss the fries with olive oil, salt, pepper, and chosen seasonings until evenly coated.
  4. Add the Parmesan: Sprinkle the grated Parmesan over the coated fries and toss again to ensure they are well covered.
Cooking
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
  2. Place the fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  3. Cook for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through until golden brown and crispy.
Serving
  1. Remove the fries from the air fryer, sprinkle with additional Parmesan if desired, and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For best results, avoid overcrowding the basket. Adjust cooking time based on thickness of fries. Experiment with your spice mix for added flavor.
